Welcome to the MDM 4U wiki (est. 2007). I hope this site provides an opportunity for both students and parents to stay up to date. Perhaps visitors may wish to look ahead to help facilitate future plans or they may wish to retrace some steps if review is at hand or classes have been missed.
Course Summary
MDM4U: Mathematics of Data Management (University Preparation)This course broadens students' understanding of mathematics as it relates to managing information. Students will apply methods for organizing large amounts of information; apply counting techniques, probability, and statistics in modelling and solving problems; and carry out a culminating project that integrates the expectations of the course and encourages perseverance and independence. Students planning to pursue university programs in business, the social sciences, or the humanities will find this course of particular interest.
MDM4U requires the use of technology for manipulating and exploring data. Dynamic statistics software such as Fathom is particularly effective in helping students become comfortable working with data.

hishuk ish ts'awalk
The main tenet of the Nuu-chah-nulth tribe's (Vancouver Island) worldview is Hishuk ish ts’awalk (pronounced he-shook-ish sha-walk), which means “everything is one.”
They believe that all things in the universe are one -- interconnected, interrelated, and interdependent -- a belief that mankind is inseparable from nature.
